Sustainability does not only concern the environment around us, and the impact we have on it. In the business world, the concept involves management of the impact on people, profit and planet alike – a triple bottom line! Under the influence of these sustainability pressures, the university sports services mission has evolved from organizing sports activities, to the much broader remit – the development of healthy campus life. The Okanagan International Charter for Health Promoting universities and colleges transform the health and sustainability if our current and future societies, strengthen communities and contribute to the well-being of people, places and the planet.

Your sports service has a social, financial and environmental responsibility. You can contribute to sustainable development in education, research and operational management of your institution. You can support and stimulate sustainable behavior among staff and students. And you can help develop a sustainable work, study and sports environment in which the impact on our resources continuously decreases.

Through expert presentations and practical sessions, we will understand and address the challenges and opportunities of sustainability in the university and college sport context. Join us to become lean, mean and green in 2018.
