On 7 and 8 of October 2019, our President Mel Parker participated in The European Sport Skills Summit, which was organised in Helsinki (Finland) and organized by ESSA-Sport project. The ESSA-Sport project is an initiative supported by the Erasmus+ Project that provides a unique opportunity to undertake the first analysis of the labour market and skills needs and to create the conditions for change in the sport and physical activity sector.
The summit was arranged as a side event related to the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and associated to the European Vocational Skills Week 2019. The event was also an opportunity to consult with stakeholders, underline potential solutions, and build a series of concrete recommendations and priority actions to tackle the identified challenges in achieving a skilled workforce within the sport sector.
