ENAS Vision
Introduction
The European Network of Academic Sports Services (ENAS) is the Association of Higher Education Sports Services. It is a non-governmental international association with a non-profit-making purpose of international interest.
University Sports in Europe is organized differently in each country. This diversity makes it important to have common goals. ENAS is the organization which achieves this for Academic Sports Services.
Mission Statement
ENAS promotes and develops sport for all in Higher Education and encourages communication and mobility between Academic Sports Services.
Objectives
The purpose of ENAS is:
- to foster the development of "sports for all" in higher education.
- to develop communication between Academic Sports Services.
- to exchange the ideas and experiences of different countries (in the fields of sports, recreation, health, culture and education).
- to encourage and promote the mobility of professionals (persons involved in sport services) and students.
- to promote recognition of the Academic Sports Services in Europe.
Guiding principles
Creating fundamentals
ENAS
- establishes university sports as a key strategic priority for the promotion of sports for all.
- assumes responsibility on an international level.
Enhancing the status of sports
ENAS
- collects data and facts for argumentation on university sports, monitors their progress and keeps abreast of the latest knowledge.
- helps to establish sports politically and socially as an indispensable and integral part of higher education life.
- makes the positive values of sport as an essential part of higher education. It promotes the health and welfare.
- convinces by means of clearly defined objectives and uses its complex network in realizing them professionally.
Mobility
ENAS
- encourages understanding and social life between students and staff.
- actively fosters student and staff exchange, including European programs on mobility and exchange.
- promotes projects and activities among its members.
Information and communication
ENAS
- comments on questions of sports policy on an international level.
- informs its members of the latest insights into health and social matters and encourages their practical application.
- applies a transparent information and communication policy about its objectives and activities.
