11th ENAS Conference - November 2008

The 11th annual ENAS conference took place in Basel, Switzerland from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th November. The theme for the conference was 'Challenges and Opportunties for University Sport'.

Sub-topics covered were:

• Support services at the university
• Quality management
• Intercultural dialogue
• IT technology as a support of administration and sport
• programmes
• Healthcare

Keynote Speaker - Dr. h.c. Adolf Ogi
From 2001 to 2007 Dr. h.c. Adolf Ogi was Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon on Sport for Development and Peace. Dr. h.c. Ogi was twice Swiss Federal Councillor. It is a great pleasure for ENAS that Dr. h.c. Ogi, as a worldwide well-known personality and ambassador for sport, will be the keynote-speaker of the ENAS Conference 2008, followed by a panel discussion.

At the beginning of 2008 Dr. h.c. Ogi joined Right To Play’s International Board of Directors. The ENAS Project, on which ENAS members decided at the General Assembly in Gent, 2007, will be to the benefit of Right to Play.
